5 on friday: hallie bulkin
Every Friday, we will be asking a fellow #girlboss five simple questions about business, the passion behind her brand and what motivates her to get out of bed in the morning.
We invite you today to meet Hallie Bulkin. She runs Little Sprout Speech, a multiple 6 figure pediatric private practice providing speech, feeding, occupational and physical therapy in kiddos homes and schools. Hallie has also created products and trainings for families living with autism and has a following over over 55k families on her Facebook page. Her goal is to provide these families with the tools they need to help their child as well as become their child's #1 advocate in the schools.
name | Hallie Bulkin
company | Little Sprout Speech, LLC
years in business | 3 years
1 | When did you consider yourself a success? When I brought on my first independent contractor three months into the business and broke six figures in my first 10 months.
2 | What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning? Working with my pediatric clients. I LOVE them. They are 100% what make me LOVE getting up and going to “work” every day! Although, I don’t really consider what I do “work” since I love it so much.
3 | What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I’d like to learn to speak several languages, including Spanish & Russian. It would be wonderful to communicate verbally with people in my life who speak only Spanish or Russian (and no English). I would also love for my daughter to be fluent in these languages, so I feel it would be important for me to be as well. Communication is my life!
4 | How would your friends describe you? Friendly, outgoing, organized, and energetic!
5 | What is your favorite quote? I have SO many! Two of my recent favorites include…
"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." – Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Be more concerned with what you can give rather than what you can get because giving truly is the highest level of living." - John C Maxwell
ding, ding, ding! bonus question | If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be? I’d love to take a peek into the future and see a time when anti-bullying campaigns are no longer needed because we are accepting of others differences, including differences of those with special needs.
